Choosing which features show

Dashboard, Projects and Clients are always on. You can turn every other area off for yourself: Today, Leads, Research, Meetings, Discover, Proposals, Planner, Time Tracking, Invoices, Client Portals and Client Updates.

Hiding an area hides it everywhere for you in that workspace. Your team and your other workspaces don’t change, and nothing is deleted. You can turn it back on at any time.

In Settings

Open Settings, then Features. The page is headed “Which features do you want to use?” and each row has a checkbox. Rows follow the order of your sidebar, so Discover sits directly above Proposals when it’s on. A Notes box at the bottom says Dashboard, Projects and Clients are always on.

There is no reset button. To undo a change, tick or untick the row again.

The same page lists these sidebar items, which you can hide without switching off anything behind them:

  • Search: hides the search button. The keyboard shortcut still works.
  • Notifications: hides the bell and its badge. Notifications and emails still arrive.
  • Recent projects: hides the three recently edited projects under Projects.
  • Co-worker: hides the Co-worker row. Co-worker stays available everywhere else.
  • Counts in the sidebar: hides the numbers next to sidebar items, such as open leads.
  • Customise: hides the Customise button. You can only hide it from Settings, not from its own panel.

From the sidebar

The Customise button sits below Notifications at the bottom of the sidebar. Click it to open the same checkboxes without leaving the page you’re on.

Defaults

Today is off by default. Discover is off by default, except in workspaces that already used it. Research and Meetings are on for everyone.

Time Tracking and running timers

You can’t turn Time Tracking off while a timer is running. The row says “Stop your timer first”.

If an admin removes your Time access, your running timer is stopped automatically and the time so far is saved.

When your admin has turned something off

Admins control which areas teammates can use in Settings, Team. If an admin has turned an area off for you, its row says “Turned off by your admin” and you can’t turn it on yourself.

If you open a link to an area you’ve hidden, MonoDesk shows a short message with a Turn on button. If an admin turned the area off, the message says so and tells you who to ask.
