The HoneyBook alternative built around the work itself
HoneyBook is excellent at booking the client. MonoDesk covers that too, with Proposals, Invoices and a Client Portal, then keeps going into the project: task boards, a weekly Planner, time tracking and an AI Co-Worker. And it works wherever you are.

The short answer
- You want contracts, scheduling and card payments in one booking flow.
- You rely on HoneyBook’s automations, autopay and payment plans.
- You’re in the US, Canada, UK or Australia, and booking matters more than delivery.
- You work outside the four countries HoneyBook serves.
- Delivering the project is where your week goes, and you want proper boards and a Planner.
- You don’t want to move up a plan just to unlock Zapier.

Why creatives move from HoneyBook to MonoDesk
Winning the client is the start. Most of the week is the work that follows.
It works where you work
HoneyBook is available in four countries. MonoDesk works anywhere, so a freelancer in Berlin or Bangkok gets the same tools.
Booking is the start, not the job
After the Proposal is signed, MonoDesk turns it into a project with a task board, Milestones and a timeline your client can follow.
No ladder for the basics
Zapier and automations sit on HoneyBook’s Essentials plan and up. MonoDesk includes Zapier, and every plan is free until the end of the beta.
An AI that plans the week
Your Co-Worker plans your day from real project data, drafts Client Updates, Proposals and Invoices, and can log a forgotten day of time.
Where HoneyBook is better
For the booking side of the business, HoneyBook goes further.
- Contracts, card payments and payment plans in one booking flow

Moving takes an afternoon
No consultants, no rebuild.
- 1 Bring your work across. Export from HoneyBook to CSV or a spreadsheet, then import clients, projects, tasks or time. MonoDesk shows every row before anything is saved.
- 2 Turn your next Proposal into a project. When the client accepts, MonoDesk sets up the project for you.
- 3 Share the Client Portal. One link per client for the plan, files, approvals and messages.
