Electrician invoice
Panel upgrades and rewires span multiple visits. Invoice per visit or per milestone, but always show labour hours and materials separately. Inspectors and permits as pass-through lines keep your margin visible.

Line items electricians use
Diagnostic or service fee. Labour (hourly or flat per task). Materials and cable. Permit fees at cost if the client pays the council directly, note "client to pay council" instead.
After-hours multiplier as its own line reads cleaner than a blended rate.
Commercial vs residential
Commercial jobs often need PO numbers on the invoice. Residential wants plainer language. Same template, different labels.

Common questions
Do I include the permit on the invoice?
If you paid it, yes as a pass-through line. If they pay the city, reference it in notes only.
Progress billing for big jobs?
Invoice deposit at schedule, then materials + labour per phase. Match what the quote promised.
