What a decent free invoice actually includes
Your business name and contact details go up top. The client name and billing address sit opposite. Every line item needs a clear label, quantity, and rate so nobody argues about what they agreed to pay.
Below the table: subtotal, tax if it applies, and the amount due. Payment instructions matter too. Bank details, a PayPal link, or "pay by check" with an address. Due date as well. "Net 14" beats a vague "please pay soon."
Why we skip the signup step
Most "free" invoice tools want your email before you see a PDF. We think that's backwards. You came here to send a bill, not join a mailing list.
Everything runs client-side. Your client names and rates never hit our servers. If you later want to track invoices and chase late payers, MonoDesk is there. Until then, this page is enough.
Print vs PDF
Hit print in the generator and choose "Save as PDF" from the dialog. That's the workflow most freelancers use. The templates are sized for A4 and US Letter.
If you bill the same client monthly, duplicate the last invoice and tweak the line items. Faster than starting from a blank Google Doc every time.

Common questions
- Is this invoice generator really free?
- Yes. No signup, no watermark on the PDF, no limit on how many invoices you make. We make money when you choose MonoDesk for ongoing client work, not by gatekeeping a one-off bill.
- Can I add my logo?
- Upload a PNG or SVG in the editor. It shows on every template. Logos stay in your browser unless you share a link with someone.
- Does it work for deposits and partial payments?
- Yes. Turn on part payment to bill a milestone or deposit, and record payments already received so the balance due is obvious.
- Can I send this invoice by email?
- Download the PDF and attach it yourself, or paste a share link if the client should preview it in the browser first.
